Floodland

In McCahon class we have been reading a novel named flood land. It has been written by Marcus Sedgwick. Marcus Sedgwick has made this as a children's fantasy novel. We held a debate which defines if the main character should trust the tribe that she got washed a way to. Or not, this is what I think.


I don’t think that Zoe should trust them because they might use her only to upgrade her boat and make it bigger, so that they can leave on their own. Although, they might take her with them so she can tell the three boys where to go from her compass. But when they get to the place they were heading to, they might kill her. Which would be a warning for Zoe, so she should be alert of what’s ahead of her.

Remember when I couldn’t ride the big waves then I never gave up and kept trying?

Remember when I was doing slingshot and I hit the edge of the big bucket?

Remember when we were doing archery and Sinead got a bulls eye like straight through the middle?

Remember when we were having dinner and everyone was trying to sneak seconds?

How to survive your first night in minecraft

Have you ever wanted to play minecraft but never knew how to survive the first night? Well I am here today to teach you the accessible way to play minecraft.

Firstly during the day time you mine many trees (it’s good to mine 12-13 blocks). The reason you mine a tree is so you can make lots of resources  to survive the night.

Secondly you make a crafting table with the wood you got from the trees. When you have made a crafting table the next thing you do is make a wooden axe. Then you get the coal and the wood and you make some torches. These resources will help you last the night.

Then with your wooden axe you make a little hole through the mountain and with your torches you put them on the side of the concrete. Then you stay inside the mountain until you get hungry ( the way you tell that you're hungry or not is your eating bar). If you have only one drum stick left on your eating bar you need to go find some food. Their eating bar is very bizarre.

You get food from cows and pigs even when you assassinate mobs  of zombies. you have to be careful when you assassinate mobs and try to eat them because you might get poisoned  by their flesh.

How to be a Positive learner in Mccahon Clas

To be a positive learner in Mccahon class you have to be organized every morning and that means you have to be at the right place at the right time. You need to be self directed. We have a learner profile that we follow. And finally you need to have a growth mind-set.  

To be the ultimate positive learner in mccahon class you have to be self directed. Self directed means be organised every morning,independent and have everything finished when the teacher says. So that altogether means being a positive learner.

We all follow our learner profile, A learner profile is when you follow everything you say so that means like following your goals.I have an example for you: Principled,caring,thinkers and communicators. If you have all these thing you are a whole person.

The final thing you need to have a growth mindset a growth mindset is when you say the positive things not the negative thing.So that means saying what am I missing instead of I am not good at that.Or mistakes helps me to improve not I made a mistake.

All these things help Mccahon class to be a positive learners. You have to be self-directed,follow our learner profile and have a growth mindset. If you do all these things you should be successful in your learning.

This is my first explanation text for the year .I found this easy because I like explanation writing next time I will use more punctuation.

LAST YEAR OF PRIMARY

We are into week two in Term one,

I am so happy that I am back at Hay Park School, but it's so sad because it's my last year at primary.

 I was so excited to the science experiment that Mrs Kingston came up with. I really liked how the Alka Seltzer rockets popped up with the id fizzing still. 

I made this abcya word cloud so everyone that looks on my blog knows what I like to do.
